Some minor clarifications for the programming assignments:
- Assignment (hand in exercise) 9 of Part 3 (MLPs) asks you to include in the baselines your best classifier from exercise 11 of Part 2 (linear models). Since we skipped the assignments of Part 2, you don't need to include that baseline.
- Several assignments (hand in exercises) include optional parts. You don't have to do the optional parts. If you perfectly address all the compulsory (non-optional) parts of an assignment, your grade for that assignment will be 10/10. If you also (correctly) do some optional parts, this may help compensate (in your grade) other (mostly minor) defficiencies in the compulsory parts. However, the main purpose of the optional parts is to help you learn more, if you are particularly keen about the material of the course.
If you have questions about the assignments, please post them to the appropriate discussion forum of the course on e-class, do not send e-mail, unless you want to discuss a private issue.
