Sustainable Development and Limited Carbon Economies

The course aims to introduce students to the concepts of Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Net Zero. Through a multifaceted approach the course will outline the pressing issues for the transition to sustainability and delve into the salience of policy initiatives at the national and international level. Emphasis will be placed in the role of technology and innovation and the factors which stimulate them. The students will critically evaluate trade-offs and synergies of economic, social, and environmental policies in the quest of promoting economic growth, climate neutrality and just transition towards 2050.
