It provides an analysis of the competitive environment, the principles and forms of port competition, the structures of modern port governance, the various formats of private and public sectors interactions in European and global ports, the measurements of port performance, and the implications of ports integration in supply chains. It concludes with a review of the key policy developments at European level.
