In your discussion of the essay, you can start by briefly mentioning the strengths of the essay, i.e. important/interesting issues that you think the authors have dealt with successfully. 

Then, you should focus more on important issues that the authors have not mentioned at all or in an unsatisfactory manner, and/or on issues that you think the authors' views are unclear/incorrect.
