In your discussion of the essay, you can start by briefly mentioning the strengths of the essay, i.e. important/interesting issues that you think the authors have dealt with successfully. 

Then, you should focus more on important issues that the authors have not mentioned at all, and/or on issues that the authors' views are unclear/incorrect.
