📢 Announcement – Session 3: Work Session (Practical Exercise on Change Models)
Course: Organizational Change Management

Dear all,

Please note that there will be no in‑class meeting tomorrow.

Instead, as part of Session 3, you will complete a short individual practical exercise designed to help you consolidate your understanding of Kotter’s 8‑Step Change Model, following my presentation and the essential reading.

🎬 What you need to do

Read the essential Reading on Kotter's model
Watch the film Moneyball (2011).
As you watch, try to connect key scenes to the eight steps of Kotter’s model.
This is simply a way to see how the theory appears in practice.

📄 Support Material

On Friday, I will upload a document with the analysis of the film and Kotter’s model, so you can read it and compare it with your own answers.
This is a consolidation exercise, and there is no need to upload anything.

Next week, I will present the assignment in class.

Exam Preparation Guidelines

Dear students,

As I have already explained in our meetings, I would like to summarise the key points to help you prepare effectively for the upcoming exam.

Begin by revising the PowerPoint presentations used throughout the course. These slides highlight the main concepts, models, and frameworks we discussed and will serve as your core study material.
Next, review the assigned academic papers. These deepen your understanding and will help you support your answers with theoretical insight, especially in the short-answer section.
The exam will consist of:
- A short case study (less lengthy than the one we analysed together but following a similar rationale in terms of structure and required thinking).
- 2–3 short-answer questions designed to assess your ability to apply theory to practical situations.
- Multiple-choice questions covering key concepts, terminology, and frameworks.

Please use the case we worked on in class as an example of how to approach the case in the exam. While the case provided will be shorter, the analytical approach should be the same.

Dear Students,

You are now invited to begin your second group assignment, based on the case study titled “Resistance at Jadgin.” Please follow the instructions below:

Read the Case Study
- You will find the case titled Resistance at Jadgin in the course documents section.
- Ensure that all group members read and understand the case thoroughly.
Work Collaboratively in Your Group
- Remain in the same groups as your previous group assignment.
- Discuss the case together and respond to the questions provided at the end of the case study.
Prepare a Group Report
- Your group should produce a written report addressing all the case questions.
- The report should be well-structured and no more than 800 words in length.
Submit Your Report
- Deadline: Monday 26th
- One group member should upload your final report to the designated submission area.

Use relevant course concepts and practical reasoning in your analysis to strengthen your report.

As part of your overall course assessment—beyond the written exam—you are also required to complete group assignments. This week marks the beginning of your first coursework assignment, now that we’ve completed the theoretical module on resistance to organizational change.

📄 I’ve uploaded a case study in the Documents section of our eClass platform. Please review it carefully.

🔍 Your task: Analyze the case through the lens of what we’ve covered in class

Please follow the steps below carefully:

1️Form your team
Each group should consist of 5 to 7 members and must include at least three different nationalities to ensure diversity of perspectives.

2️ Access the case study
You will find the case study titled “1st Groupwork” in the Documents section on eClass. Please download and read it thoroughly.

3️Focus your analysis
Read the case carefully and gather relevant materials that will help you respond to Questions 1 and 2 only. No need to address other questions at this stage.

4️Prepare your presentation
Create a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 10 slides summarizing your analysis and responses.

📌 Make sure to include:

The full names of all group members
The two most useful sources (either academic or practitioner-based) that supported your answers

There will be no lecture tomorrow, in order to give you dedicated time to work on your group assignment.

Use this opportunity to meet with your team, explore the case study in depth, and begin shaping your analysis.

You need to submit your work (only one submission per team) until the 16^th of April to the eclass
